Courtney Lawson
Founder of Mojo Med
Hi there, I’m Courtney Lawson, founder of Mojo Med. With 15 years as a registered nurse and 4 years as a nurse practitioner, my personal health journey deeply influences my approach to patient care. For 20 years, I navigated a complex path of misdiagnoses, often feeling dismissed by doctors who didn’t explore the root causes of my symptoms. I quietly suffered from a rare autoimmune condition called Addison’s disease, likely stemming from undiagnosed Lyme disease, and was misdiagnosed with many conditions like fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, irritable bowel syndrome and more.
In 2019, after a significant health decline, I was finally diagnosed with Addison’s disease and received life-saving treatment. This pivotal moment in 2020, coupled with adopting an integrative medicine perspective, transformed my life. Autoimmunity also affected my hormones, putting me into early menopause at age 41. Restoring my adrenal and sex hormones made me feel alive again, and each year since, my health has continued to improve.
I am passionate about uncovering the root causes of inflammation and autoimmunity that many people endure unnecessarily. At Mojo Med, I specialize in helping both women and men with hormone imbalances, gut health issues, joint pain, and chronic inflammation. I love witnessing the transformations in my patients’ lives as they reduce systemic inflammation, optimize hormones, and prevent chronic disease. My goal is to help you thrive on your individualized wellness journey, not merely survive on medications that don’t address the underlying causes.
Currently, as I manage my own treatment for Lyme disease and mold toxicity, these areas have become a focus of further education and passion for me. I aim to support others in receiving proper diagnoses and comprehensive treatments.
